Annie Sloan Unfolded Visits NYC

A few days before we kicked off the Annie Sloan American Tour  in early March, I met Annie  and our PR guru, Melissa Riche, in New York for a fabulous media trip. I had never been before so I was excited and energized!  We had a packed schedule with some of the top Magazine companies, Annie’s publisher, and of course I had to find time to visit my Stockist, Amanda Peppard, in Long Island.

Flight, taxi, hotel, whew…Scott and I walked out on the Manhattan streets near Midtown and I paused, trying to get my bearings and absorb all I could of this flighting moment. I looked up and was almost trampled until Scott wisked me away saying “Lisa you can’t just stop in the middle of the street!” He was right, the sidewalk is a pedistrian street, moving 10 mph. That quick I understood New York. The next two days I moved with purpose and haste, I was a working woman!

We had a wonderful time and largely successful meetings! If I must say, I think that Annie and myself complement each other very well and the work Melissa did was brilliant!  Here we are in the Hearst building meeting with Page Mullins and Kathryn Garrison with Country Living Magazine. They were so sweet and Page and I really got chatty because she is from the south about 2 hours away from New Orleans.

I had 2 hours on the second day to sightsee and there was so much I wanted to do. Scott and I literally speed walked through Soho, TriBeCa, and the financial  district, where I had to get a glimpse of Wall Street…Let’s not forget my former career was in finance!

It was a great trip but next time I will stay a little longer so I can work hard and play hard too!
